The Happiest Place on Earth?

When you open this
I will be stuck in LA traffic
on my way to
what has been touted as
"The Happiest Place on Earth"
~
This photo reflects how I feel about the whole place

Once a year I go with the grand kids
to Disneyland
~
But it is not my first choice
in how I spend time with them
nor my second or third
or ninty ninth...

Back in the olden days
It was a magical place
~
It sparked the imagination
and was innovative
~
Now, at least for me
it is just another crowded, expensive theme park
did I say
 EXPENSIVE
~
But I do want to spend some more time
with the boys
~
and it will be just the four of us
not the usual big family crowd with everyone trying to coordinate rides, schedules and needs

then imagine
It's a small world playing in my head for DAYS afterwards
with little dolls dancing the cancan!
~
So much for solitude and simplicity!

  1. Ah, I loved that you decided to follow Shelly's advice :) and.. my problem is that I, too, think the same about amusement parks. There was a time when I thought they were fun, now - just a way to get money out of you and I wonder if we could bring up children without them, will they be missing much?

Hope you're having a great day with your grandkids!

    1. Even leaving late the traffic was hidious! It took me three hours to go 80 miles...I don't know how people who live in LA do it...REALLY...who would WANT to?
The boys were excited to take me on their favorite rides and it was fairly empty at the park...and thank heavens...not to hot...I agree with you Sonya...I don't see the need for the amusement parks...there is so many more REAL life experience I would like to expose them to instead. I paid attention to what was going on with my body today...in reaction to the whole event ...maybe I will write about it tomorrow.

  2. Lol ~ I thought I was the only one who hated Disney World! ;) I told my girls not to expect we shall ever visit this madhouse together, instead we plans trips to Pennsylvania and quiet camping trips in the woods! The crazy of parks makes me want to run and hide... but, I do hope that you had an amazing time! And I'm sure your grandkids were thrilled to have you all to themselves for the day! :)
